A great portrait starts with a great photo. You don’t need a fancy camera, a phone works fine. These tips help Shiloh capture your pet’s personality.

Use natural light

Take photos near a window or outside on a bright, overcast day. Avoid flash, which flattens fur and causes glowing eyes.

Get down to eye level

Crouch or sit so the camera is level with your pet’s eyes. It makes the portrait feel personal instead of looking down at them.

Focus on the eyes

Make sure the eyes and face are sharp. Tap the screen on your pet’s eyes before taking the photo.

Send a few extras

Include a couple of extra photos that show true coloring and markings, plus anything special you’d like included.
